For those short on time enjoy a self-guided walking break in the North Cotswolds walking from Bourton-on-the-Water to Winchcombe and back via the Windrush and Wardens Way.
For those short on time we recommend this Short Cotswold Walking break which gives you a good overview of the area passing with one days walk focusing on the undulating countryside in the Windrush Valley and the other days walk focusing on the quaint cotswold stone villages in the area.
This Cotswold walking break starts and finishes in the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’, Bourton-on-the-Water. via one night in the historic town of Winchcombe. The break lasts for 4 days/3 nights and you will have two full days of walking with distances of around 13 miles per day. There is also the option of adding an extra night, allowing for one more walking day. See itinerary tab for details.
This self-guided holiday includes 3 or 4 nights standard accommodation with breakfast, baggage transfers between villages, tour folder and route notes with maps.
This walking holiday is available to start any day of the week subject to availability. If you wish to extend this trip by one day there is an option for this during the booking process.
The cost of this break is £250 per person based on two people sharing a double/twin en-suite room. For solo travellers and those wanting a single room a supplement applies (See Extras).

You can either choose to pay a £100 deposit or the full balance. Payment of balance is required 6 weeks before departure. Please note all bookings are provisional as we need to confirm availability of accommodation.
Day 1- Arrive in Bourton on the Water, check-in to hotel and spend the rest of your day exploring this historic village. Wander around the ancient streets, visit the Model Village or the Dragonfly Maze.
Overnight- Bourton-on-the-Water
Day 2– Bourton-on-the-Water to Winchcombe– (13 miles/21 km)- Walk along the Wardens Way to Winchcombe via the pretty villages of Upper Slaughter, Naunton and Guiting Power
Overnight- Winchcombe
Day 3– Winchcombe to Bourton-on-the-Water– (13 miles/21km)- Return walk to Bourton-on-the-Water along the Windrush Way through pretty countryside following the Sudeley and Windrush Valleys
Overnight- Bourton-on-the-Water
Day 4- This is your final day and after a leisurely breakfast you can make your way to your next destination. Moreton-in-Marsh station is an easy taxi ride or bus journey away.

Day 4- Winchcombe to Bourton-on-the-Water- (13 miles/21km)- Return walk to Bourton-on-the-Water along the Windrush Way through pretty countryside following the Sudeley and Windrush Valleys

Solo traveller Supplement- (for customers travelling alone)- £40 per night
Single Room Supplement-(for people wanting their own room)- £25 per person per night

Extra night in Winchcombe in middle (allows one more walking day)- £85 per person
This break includes three/four nights standard bed and breakfast accommodation staying in quality inns, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts. All accommodation is carefully hand-picked and you will have a private bathroom and full english breakfast provided each morning.
This break starts and ends in Bourton-on-the-Water, which is a short taxi/bus ride away from Moteton-in-Marsh train station, which is accessible on direct trains from London Paddington

How much is the tour?
The tour costs from £250 per person based on two people sharing a double/twin room.
What about my luggage?
This break includes luggage transfer(s) between lodgings, so you only need to worry about your day pack when you are moving accommodation. Each break includes luggage transfers for one large suitcase per person. You need to leave it in reception on the morning you are moving villages and it will arrive at your destination by late afternoon.
What about solo travellers and those requiring their own room?
Solo travellers are welcome on this tour and a supplement applies to cover the cost of solo occupancy of a double/twin room and the extra cost incurred in moving one set of luggage instead of two and providing a set of route maps for one rather than two people. A supplement also applies to those requiring their own room. See extra tab for more details.
Am I fit enough?
We offer a variety of itineraries to suit people all fitness levels and most of our breaks can be achieved by anyone with a decent overall level of fitness. If you are unsure you are fit enough or do not currently exercise we recommend engaging in regular physical activity for a few months prior to the holiday
When is the best time of year to go?
You can go any time of year but we recommend March to November as the best time of year for outdoor activities in the Cotswolds.
What should I bring?
We will provide you with a detailed pre-tour folder which includes a packing list but as a guide: good quality walking boots/shoes, comfortable walking clothing, waterproof jacket and trousers, a rucksack and gloves/hat.
Do you offer London pickups?
Pick ups from London and other towns and villages can be arranged at an extra cost.
How long is this tour?
This tour last for 3 nights and 4 days with 2 full days walking. There is the option to extend by an extra day/night to have one more day walking.
How do i get to the start of the tour?
The easiest option would be to get a direct train from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh. The tour will start and finish in Bourton-on-the-Water which is a short taxi ride from Moreton-in-Marsh train station.
